Sourcing bay leaves well follows the same discipline as sourcing oregano: control the grade, packing, Incoterm, and lead time, and buy direct from origin.
Origin and harvest
Most globally traded laurel (bay) leaves are Turkish, from the Aegean and Mediterranean ranges. Region and drying discipline drive leaf colour, breakage, and aroma, which is why a serious producer confirms specifications per lot on a COA rather than publishing one fixed number.
Grade to channel
Whole-leaf select grades for retail jars and gourmet; semi-select and standard for foodservice and blends; crushed for distillation and seasoning. Specify the channel before you ask for a price.
Documentation at origin
As the producer and exporter we prepare the certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, and per-lot COA, and quote DDP, CIF, or FOB. Buying direct from İzmir keeps the chain short between harvest and your warehouse.
Pair bay with your oregano program and source both from one counterparty. Request a quote.
